Trust. It's a *simple* word. Right??? As a child u learn who and what to trust. As a teen, u want to be trusted w the "family car", so u can go on that date w the pretty girl, or that hunky guy. Then u get married, settle down and have a family. As a parent, you say "trust me", to your kid(s) a lot over the yrs... and the kid mimics that statement right back to u. "trust me"!!! As you age and get into a career, u want to be able to trust in the company that u work for and the people that u work for; to not take advantage of u. Even politicians r skilled into receiving ur trust.

You trust people *NOT* to hurt u. U trust people to "do the right thing". U trust people to be *HONEST* with u. U trust the government to stay at arms length and do what they do best. Protect our nation.

Then, sadly; reality sets in. Families break up, when trust is lost. The kids get *versions* of stories, as to what happened and *who* is to blame. The kids, then take sides. Possibly, as a teen u got in an accident and your date was either injured or sadly dies. Then again, u could be in a career where u start out on the bottom... workin' ur tail off; to please the boss and to show initiative. U move up the ladder. Then, u hear rumblings and take the wrong side... Ur fired.

Yet, there is a trust that we haven't spoken about. The trust we place in our political leaders. We, as a nation r celebrating our 234th anniversary of our independence from England and it's tyranny. We had enough of their taxes and lording over us. So, our nation rebelled and gained our independence.

We look at the Constitution of the United States of America, with awe and wonder. It really is a fantastic document. Yet, even *today*, we find that one word: "fellow-citizens", was initially "fellow-subjects". Personally, I like *citizens* over *subjects* any day!!!

Yet, even *TODAY*, we find our government wanting to "claw-back"; as it were; the *freedoms* entrusted to us, by the Constitution of the United States of America.

We; as a nation; have *GOT TO STAY* alert and steadfast, so that our freedoms and liberties that we so rightfully enjoy; do not get taken away from us by anyone.... Now and forever.

With that, I wish everyone a Happy 4th and please, be safe out there. As a reminder, please keep all pets inside and safe during any fireworks displays. Their hearing is better then ours and the fireworks can damage their hearing and scare them. Put them in a room w water and "somewhere to do their business" and enjoy the fireworks displays!!!
