People r under a great deal of stress. From the loss of a job, to the loss of a home, and more. Finances of the individual and family r stretched to the limit. Yet, the governments all want more. Local water bills goin' *thru the roof* due to the requirement that water sources be "covered". A side effect of the reactionary events of 9/11. We don't want our water sources contaminated. Cable fees and taxes will no doubt go up soon. Bank fees will skyrocket, all thanks to FINREG.
911 systems need upgrading. Roads need repair, sewer and water systems need to be upgraded and improved. Municipal buildings need to be "retro-fitted" for those in earthquake zones. Then u have the "occasional" *MORONIC* city council, that passes a name change for a street, to honor someone (Ceasar Chavez), who never lived in the city... but, was a *hero* to the illegal immigrant labor community. So people r upset, becuz the City Council *shoved* this changed thru. The change caused not only financial issues (replacing already valid signs on street corners, having businesses along the route get different letterhead to reflect the correct street name, names associated with the *original street name* were out in the cold.
Fire stations need upgrading of buildings, fire trucks and other emergency vehicles (be it ambulances, 4WD rescue units, etc). Let's not leave out Law Enforcement. They need communication equipment, newer cars to replace the ones that have been destroyed in car chases or filled w holes due to gun shoot outs.
Ah, then we come to libraries... U know, the building w books (as I use to call it when I was a kid).
But, lets not leave out the dear kiddies... Taxes for school districts, parks, park equipment, school books, school instructors, janitorial services, buses and maintenance crews, technical support people, secretaries and administrators and vice administrators and paper and paper towels and restroom equipment (becuz kids like to vandalize the restrooms), computers need to be updated, tests for ACT, SAT, PSAT, the quarterly tests so the Federal government can say that the kids r not being taught what they need and they r left behind.
So, with all this *ROTTEN* news... do u think people will be more inclined to end their lives rather than continue to live in all the stress??? Could all the burdens come *HOME* to roost... where someone has had enough??? There is only so much we should be *required* to handle. I mean, we r only *HUMAN*. I am not Kal-El from the planet Krypton, I know that for a fact. We have no super powers.
Quite honestly, for some, the burden may be too much. That's a sad thing. If u r feeling stressed and over-burdened, *PLEASE*, contact someone... ANYONE. There r free clinics in most communities. Look in ur locations for churches or social service agencies. Red Cross, United Way, even TV stations and radio stations may have contacts... Please use every resource available, to keep urself safe. Google "Social Service agencies" in ur location... Reach out to someone, if u need to. I now roll off my soapbox...
