If u need a haircut don't go to a neurosurgeon

Neurosurgeons r good at one thing, fixing things that go wrong with the brain and spinal cord. Yet, neither they; nor their team of assistants; make very good hair stylists/barbers. If I had them available, I'd show proof. But trust me on this. Neurosurgeons don't go to school for 15 yrs so that they can trim someones hair. They have other *important stuff* on their minds.

In the past, I had *extremely* funky hair after going into the operating room. They would shave the right portion of my head and then leave the rest... and when I was young I had longer hair (and more of it to boot). So I looked like a dork when I got out of the hospital. All that shaving of only the section they needed drove me nuts.

So, before I ever go into surgery that deals with my head, I make sure *the nite before* that my head is shaved. That way, the neurosurgeon only has to apply the betadine, slice along the suture line that has been there since I was one month old and voila, he's *IN*.

Beauticians, hair stylists, barbers... whatever u want to call them; have an important job. I just don't happen to need them any more since 1) I keep what is left of my hair short, 2) they get kinda squeamish around my scar, so I don't want them near it...

So I guess what I am trying to say is: Hair=hair stylist/beautician/barber. Brain=neurosurgeon. Try not to give the wrong person the job or u might be *sorry*.

LOL, either I have a ton more hair than I thought, or my neurosurgeon had a stylist in the OR with him! When I was done, most of the right side of my head was shaved, but when I kept my hair down, you seriously couldn't tell. I did think my six-inch "zipper" was awesome, though, so I wore a lot of ponytails until the staples and stuff came out. XD

hehe... That's just way too funny!!! I've had around 15 operations on my head, since I was one month old. I know one woman that is younger than me that has had *way* more ops for her hydrocephalus than me. She's over in the UK, so different meds and different shunts.

But, yeah, I'll be shavin' my head cuz it's gettin' too long (not for surgery this time). Last time I was "in-house" was a few yrs ago...yay.

I got what could be considered my second tongue, on the side of my head. lol. I don't have enough hair to do the "pony tail" thing.lol. I'm not real fond of staples. They r a b*tch to get out of my head. So I usually ask for sutures or tape. But since I've had so many ops they say sutures. They don't want the loley brain cell I got in my head to escape to freedom and maybe learn somethin'...lol
