Are women/girls more dangerous than men/boys (an observation)

"Sugar and spice and everything nice"; we've all heard that description of girls. Yet, as we know girls grow into women. We've heard of "catfights"... Some of us even encourage them. Some of us love to see women fight. Why??? Becuz women r brutal.

Having two sisters; who at times didn't get along and observing girls in school that fought, much like the boys; was eye-opening to me as a kid. Yet, those girls grew into young women and now older women. Scary!!!

I have witnessed fights at grade schools, middle schools and high school. I have come to the conclusion that, yes, in my opinion; women/girls r *way* more dangerous then boys or men.

Am I tainted??? Am I a misogynist??? I'd like to think not... Yet, due to issues surrounding my ex, I don't trust women any longer. Does that mean I hate them. No. I just don't trust them (in person). From a distance, I feel safer. So, if I'm a little "stand-offish", my apologies.

Just like a great schism divides liberal and conservatives, a great schism divides me from women; simply due to the perception I have that women/girls are more dangerous.

I read of female teachers raping young boys and girls, yet, they get off with a slap on the wrist. Young girls attack other girls... slap on the wrist. Had it been a boy or a man who had been the attacker, the punishment and the view of boys and men-in general, is found to be way worse. WHY???

Let's discuss this rationally and leave our various biases at the door. I'm open to trying to think differently of women... Yet, I admit; I'll need help and understanding.

Taught high school for a few years. The only fight I ever had to break up was with two girls. Guys would 'mad dog' each other for a while and I would give them a firm 'Knock it off' and they would. Girls, two seconds and fists flew... crazy!

Yeah, I raised my daughter to *defend* herself. Her first attack was in from a classmate (boy) who tossed a jumprope over her head. My daughter saw it coming. Turned quickly around and grabbed him by the shoulders and *SAT* him down. Both she and the boy got sent to the principal. She got a warning. I spoke to the principal asking why she got a warning. She was not the instigator. The principal said that "no one is allowed to touch someone else". And I said, and using a jump rope is OK??? She didn't answer. Saying that she had to get back to work and that the issue was closed, in her mind.

    ToE:

did in fact the "attacker" not actually do anything to your daughter

No. The fact is that the boy tried to strangle her from behind. She saw the rope coming over her head and put her arms up quickly, so as to prevent it from getting around her throat.

She did *NOT* attack the boy. She turned to face him and sat him down, instead of punching the crap out of him. She then told someone to get the playground observer (who was an on-duty teacher). She told her story and the boy also told his story. My daughter was not the aggressor, the boy was.

Until the past few years I'd say you were nucking futs, but after seeing some of the shows that are on tv (bad girls club, real housewifes, jersey shore and jerseylicous) I may have to agree somewhat......it appears more girls are willing to fight than ever before, but I don't see them taking up weapons like guys do.......jmho

I don't watch the shows u mention, so I am not sure what goes on within the shows. I have noticed that there r more girl-girl fights than when my daughter was in grade school. I'm not sure if it has something to do with the maturity of each of the kids, or if there is a violent issue within the homes that fosters the violence on the school ground.

The one thing I noticed while at the mall is that while strollin' thru, I saw more girl *groups*, and very large (as in number) groups too compared to the guy groups I saw. There would be maybe three guys together chatting and walkin' thru the mall, whereas there was 5-7 girls all chatting and walkin'. The way they carried themselves seems to also have changed. There was more chains on the girls than I have seen on guys.

Feel free to delete my comment :-). We who learn English from books and the BBC have less cause to get confused.

Ask the insurance companies on this one, things may be changing but boys are a huge risk until they are 25. As a Middle School teacher, I have noticed a drop in the ability to judge risk amoung of girls.

Yeah, the brain doesn't fully develop in either young men or young women til 25. Yet, what I was addressing was the violence in girls/young women getting worse over the most recent decades. Being ur in middle school, u have an extremely tough job. Kudos to u to help our kids on the way to adulthood.

Oh, girls like to fight and they don't like to let it go. Boys think it is simply a goal; a punch to the nose is only a "Goal" but for girls a punch to the nose is a reason for life time hatred. Girls are different but they are the same; if you want to be a good teacher, you make sure, girls get noticed.

Recognition is key w girls. A lot of times they feel left behind. That is why I care so much for my daughter... Always lettin' her know how much I appreciate her and love her and how proud I am of her accomplishments.
